What is the price of oil?

When should I order oil?
We suggest you order oil weekdays when your tank gauge reads 3/8 to 1/4 full. Never let your tank run too low. It can cause problems with your heating system. You may call us any time to order, since Jim Johnson is usually available to answer your call. If Jim, or his staff, is not available, you may leave a message on the 24-hour answering service. Leave your order information and a staff member will return your call to confirm your order.


When can I get an oil delivery?
Johnson Fuel Oil will deliver oil the same day if the order is placed before 9:00am on Monday through Friday. If you call after 9:00am, we cannot guarantee same day delivery, but we will try to make a delivery during normal business hours.


What happens if I run out of oil or need burner service?
Johnson Fuel Oil offers 24-hour service, 7 days a week. Just call us at (781) 729-2500 or (781) 729-8644 for assistance. Please note that after hour deliveries are subject to a service fee.


Do you take Fuel Assistance clients?
Yes, we welcome all customers.


How long have you been in business?
Jim Johnson started Johnson Fuel Oil on September 15, 1972 and has been delivering oil ever since.


Where are you located?
Our facility is located at 130 Cross Street in Winchester, MA. We have quick access to all of the cities and towns in our service area.


When should I have my burner tune-up or serviced?
Anytime. A tune-up is preventative maintenance and can identify an issue before it becomes a problem.


Do you install new heating systems?
Yes. Just call us and we will come out to your home and work with you to get the most for your money.


Do you install oil tanks?
Yes. We install and service oil tanks and related parts.


Do you deliver during inclement weather?
Unfortunately, we cannot control the weather. Please note that Johnson Fuel Oil does not deliver oil just before, during or just after a snowstorm. We will only operate our fleet of trucks when conditions allow for the safety of the public, our employees and our equipment. We do try very hard to get all oil deliveries done before the weather turns unsafe. Please place your oil order early, prior to inclement weather conditions.


Do I have to shovel a path in the snow to get to the oil fill?
Yes. It is preferred and extremely helpful to clear a path to the oil fill, especially if it is a far distance from the truck. In addition, all gates should be shoveled and clear of snow and ice. All oil fills and vents should be cleared of snow and ice to allow for proper operation.
